Open Post: Treat

Now that the latest burst of activity has actually settled into something like calm for a few days, Tress has settled into a temporary project. In fairness, most of the temporary project took place the previous day in the out of the way kitchen that she had previously commandeered small appliances from. But today requires a bit more wandering.

So she is currently in the process of going around various at least semi-frequented common rooms leaving trays of both nut and honey balls and chocolate coconut balls. Next to each room's tray, she sets down a small card that says in careful handwriting, 'It's been a tough week. Help yourself!'

She's not putting a whole lot of fanfare into the process, but she's also not being particularly secretive about it, so she's easy enough to find throughout.

"Activity club?" She smiles. "That sounds like it could be fun. I'd love to join in. What other kinds of activities are you thinking of?"

[ravkanwitch]

"Anything! I know there's some sort of translation magic happening, but we could try and have an afternoon of languages. I could also teach everyone how to pick a lock," she says mischievously. "Oh - and Nightingale and I are going to host a talent show."

"An afternoon of languages might be tricky unless we can figure out how to get around the translation magic. But if we could, that would be fun." She laughs a little. "So would lockpicking. And I think the talent show will be excellent to watch, but I don't think any of my talents are really... talent show talents, if that makes sense."

[ravkanwitch]

"It does," Nina nods. "I'm still trying to figure out what I'm going to do. I'm also a bit of an actress sometimes... but I can't exactly put on a one-woman show. I mean, I could, but it might be slightly awkward."

"Maybe you could do a monologue of some kind? You wouldn't have to do a whole production, I don't think."

[ravkanwitch]

“Either that or poetry?” Nina thinks. She makes a face. “Definitely can’t sing.”

"Poetry would be nice, I think. Or maybe dancing, if you can dance? I'm trying to think of talent show things."

[ravkanwitch]

"I can definitely dance as well. There's nothing you can do for the talent show? Not even a spores demonstration?" She gives Tress a slightly pleading look, hoping to impress Nightingale with how many people she's gotten to commit to the talent show before they meet next.

"I suppose I could do a spores demonstration? At least a small one, anyway, but I don't know how interesting it would really be to watch." She shrugs. "But if you'd like me to, I'll do it."

[ravkanwitch]

"That would be amazing," Nina says, eyes lighting up. "I think everyone will love it."

[sporesprouter]

"If you say so," Tress replies with a shrug. She's a little dubious about the idea of sprouting being fit for a talent show, but Nina seems enthusiastic enough, at least.

[ravkanwitch]

Nina sits back, satisfied. "I'm surprised Nightingale even agreed to co-hosting a talent show. He seemed to regret it afterwards, but there's no way out now."

[sporesprouter]

She laughs. "You wouldn't let him back out if he wanted to, would you?"

[ravkanwitch]

"He's trapped," she says, eyes mischievous. "I can't wait to see what he signs up with."

[sporesprouter]

And that just makes Tress laugh again. "He does magic, doesn't he? Couldn't he just demonstrate that?"

[ravkanwitch]

"No, we can't let him get away with it that easily."

[sporesprouter]

"What other talents do you think he might have, then?"

[ravkanwitch]

"I'll have to ask. I think I know what I want to do, but I need to convince a second person for it." She smiles at Tress. "Not you, don't worry."

"Well thank you, but now I'm curious about what it is. And who it is."

[ravkanwitch]

Nina shakes her head. "You'll have to wait and see."

[sporesprouter]

"I guess I'll wait and see, then. I bet it'll be spectacular."

[ravkanwitch]

Nina gives her a smile, then scrambles up. "Well, I'll leave you to it. Thank you for the treats! I can't wait for your spores demonstration at the talent show."

[sporesprouter]

She nods. "You're welcome! And I can't wait for whatever it is you end up doing, either."

With that, she heads off to continue her treat distribution.
